| What a Sojourn? |
|
With weather holding all week, the 2010 Delaware River Sojourn was a great success. 7-9 NCSP volunteers guided 400 plus paddlers from the Upper Delaware all the way to the Tide waters in Camden/Philly area. 24 brave souls took the entire trip, camping and celebrating the the river only as a sojourn can. We paddled the canal and lock system in the Easton, PA area and took our daily group photo on and near the Lumberville Pedestrian Bridge. This years theme "Bridging the Delaware Valley, connecting communities" fit our trip as we had multiple generations, and age range from 5 to 75. Aunt Martha Jean was talked into it, and then talked here niece Isabella into staying longer. When asked what they thought, they responded, " I never knew the river could be so much fun, it's so different in all the sections." NCSP provided the most valuable part of the sojourn, safety and piece of mind and great company around the camp fires. Thanks for a job well done see you next Sojourn. DeJay VC 2010 |
