| Last Chance on Lackawaxen |
It May Be Your Last Chance to Run The Lack -As you likely know by now, Euell Threshman passed away in early May. The heirs plan to sell the property and have denied access for boaters. At the same time Lackawaxen was named River of the Year by the state of Pennsylvania and a two day sojourn is planned over June 12, 13 & 14. Go to www.riveroftheyear.com PPL has authorized a 1400-1500 cfs on Monday June 14 from 8 am - 4 pm. After much scrambling and cooperation, we have permission for a one time access at a second location on the Lack on Monday June 14. Repeat: this is a one time, special permission! Here is your chance to get on this water - legitimately! We need 6 - 8 NCSP volunteers to provide land support for the Monday June 14 release. The guests will be in KC rafts. We need the area mowed/cleared, help to launch 10 + rafts and police the launch area so not a speck of trash is left. In return, you are welcome to run the river with us and enjoy a Jerry Wickness lunch at the Rowland bridge. (You may remember that Jerry catered our 30th birthday bash at the Schoolhouse) This will also be a "Euell Threshman Memorial Run" The trip will end at KC Lukes Landing.
